Installing an EV charger in a community garage space costs, as a guide, between €900 and €1,800. It's a wide range because it mainly depends on the distance between your space and the fuse box or meter, and whether a new circuit is needed. The exact price is only known after a site visit. On top of that, if you finish the installation before 31 December 2026, you can recover part of it through the IRPF deduction.
Installing a charger in a community garage doesn't cost the same as in a house with its own garage, because you have to run the supply from your home (or from the garage's fuse box) to your space, sometimes over long runs through shared areas.
Here's a clear breakdown of what you're paying for and why the price goes up or down. If you're looking for the price for a home with its own garage, you'll find it in how much it costs to install a charger in Granada.
Price range for a community garage space #
The indicative range we work with at CargaGranada is:
| Item | Indicative price |
|---|---|
| Full installation in a community garage space | €900 – €1,800 |
Indicative amount, with equipment and installation, subject to a site visit. Ask the quote to state whether it includes VAT.
Your specific case will fall somewhere in that range depending on the factors below.
What a full quote should include #
Check that the quote details:
- The charger (model, power and features).
- The electrical line from the connection point to your space, with its protections.
- The conduit through shared areas, where needed.
- The metering system for your consumption, so you pay for it, not the community.
- The labour, documentation and certification.
- The warranty.
A quote that only covers the equipment isn't comparable to one that includes all of the above.
What makes the work more expensive (or cheaper) #
Distance to the connection point #
This is the most important factor. If your space is close to the garage's fuse box or your meter, the work is shorter and cheaper. If there are many metres of cable and conduit, it goes up.
Where you connect #
There are three common scenarios for powering the charger:
- From your own home, making use of your existing supply.
- With a new, separate meter, located in the garage or the meter room.
- From shared infrastructure, when the community has already pre-installed one.
Each option has a different cost. If your consumption needs to be metered separately, ask about the metering solution being proposed.
Load management #
If several neighbours are going to install chargers, a dynamic load management system shares out the available power and avoids problems. It adds to the equipment cost, but can avoid having to increase the garage's contracted power.
Type of garage #
A garage on the same floor, one below ground level, or one in a different building each involve different runs and work.

Typical cases: from cheapest to most expensive #
| Case | What defines it | Position in the range |
|---|---|---|
| Space close to the fuse box, connection from your home | Little cable and conduit | Lower end |
| Space at medium distance with a separate meter | Longer line and its own meter | Middle |
| Distant space, work through shared areas and load management | Lots of conduit and extra equipment | Upper end |
This is a qualitative guide: the exact price is set during the site visit.
How much you're left with after the IRPF deduction #
If you install the charger in a space you own and finish the work before 31 December 2026, you can apply a deduction of 15% on the amounts paid, with a maximum base of €4,000 — that is, up to €600 of deduction.
Example using this article's range:
| Cost of the installation | 15% deduction | Effective cost |
|---|---|---|
| €900 | €135 | €765 |
| €1,300 | €195 | €1,105 |
| €1,800 | €270 | €1,530 |
The deduction is applied in the 2026 tax return (spring 2027) and requires paying by a method that leaves a record (not in cash). All the requirements are in our guide to the IRPF deduction for your charger.
How to request a quote #

- Notify your homeowners' association in writing; you don't need a vote, but you do need to inform them. The full procedure is in rights, cost and procedure for a community garage.
